Jeny Knight, Executive Director

Jeny Knight graduated Magna Cum Laude from Houston Baptist University with double majors in Marketing and Business Management. She is licensed as a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator (LNFA) from The University of Texas Center on Aging and is also a Certified Assisted Living Administrator (CALA) from Southwest Texas State University. She has a passion for serving senior adults with over twenty years of industry experience to her credit. Jeny has served in the capacity of Executive Director at The Abbey since January, 2005 and has never missed a day of work. She loves her job and looks forward to coming to work every day!! jknight@abbeywp.com



 


Barbara McMahan, Community Relations Director

Barbara McMahan first joined The Abbey in 2005. She enjoys spending time with her family of 8 siblings, children, grandchildren, and of course, her husband Don Cage. Barbara worked for 25 years with Ogilvy & Mather advertising and Houston Community Newspapers. She has been in the Senior Care Industry for the last 10 years. Charmayne Goodluck, Food Service Director

Charmayne joined The Abbey in April, 2006 and brings with her over 20 years of industry experience. Born and raised in Guyana, South America, Charmayne came to America with her 5 daughters in 2004. Charmayne enjoys cooking, traveling and meeting interesting people. Charmayne feels very proud and blessed to be a part of The Abbey Family.

Sterlann Brown, Wellness Manager

Sterlann Brown joined the Abbey in December 2010 after serving as Wellness Manager for another Assisted Living Community for the past 13 years. Sterlann has worked with seniors since she was in high school. She enjoys spending her time with her wonderful husband and three sons. Sterlann was born in Bermuda and then soon after moved to New Jersey until she attended college at Hampton University in Virginia. She moved to Houston in 1993. She is eager to work with our residents and families and assures exceptional service and care.


Manuel Quellar, Maintenance Director

Manuel joined The Abbey in April, 2008 after serving as the Maintenance Supervisor for another retirement community for 23 years. Manuel was born in Sugar Land, Texas and has remained in the great state ever since. Manuel has three sons and two daughters that he is extremely proud of. He enjoys playing golf, barbequing, and music. He has also played bass guitar for 36 years and the last 21 years have been with his own band. Manuel is excited to be on board with The Abbey and is looking to be here 23 years, too.

Nancy Gachman
Nancy Gachman, Marketing Director

A graduate from The University of Houston, Nancy Gachman comes to us with 18 years of senior industry  experience.  She joined our team in November of 2010 as a Receptionist.  Her greatest joy is working with Seniors and their family members to develop solutions that will make for a successful transition.  Nancy and her father, Robert Merklein ( a P-51 Pilot during WWII) have been volunteers with the Commerative Air Force (CAF) since 1990.  In her own words “Seniors are my Passion!”

Veronica Ramirez
Veronica Ramirez, Activities Director

Veronica Ramirez has worked in the Long Term Care industry for over 14 years, in such positions as     Co-Manager, Administrator’s Assistant, and Activity Director.  She has been an Activity Director and supervised activities for over 5 years.  She loves interacting with the residents and family members.  Veronica loves to spend her spare time with her 11 year old son.
